The project area presents a sum of spaces not clearly defined, in some cases difficult to use because of the sloping areas, and in other for the negative admixture between the pedestrian and vehicle flows. The main objective of the project proposal is to solve the issues required in one procedure urban, integrated, orderly and concise, able to relate all subsequent compositional choices, urban and functional. Following a study of the orographic the entire central region and height access buildings, private and public, it is made a summary with a single inclined plane with a maximum slope of 5%. According to a conceptual point of view this element is intended as a continuous and it can not alter the accesses to the buildings. The material proposed for this element is porphyry stone. The main direction of these elements is suggested and generated by the orientation of the nave of the church of S. Orsula e Compagne.
The project provides a new arrangement that reinterprets the relationship between the urban parts of the central area and in which it is possible to identify new pedestrian areas and other with limited traffic. The accessibility of the area is secured and plates create spaces with high architectural quality, suitable for rest and aggregation among citizens. The war memorial is relocated within the context of Piazza degli Alpini on a specific plate to the south of the churchyard. So the monument has a special space and it is integrated into the overall design of the square. The viability of the center of Tuenno is rationalized starting from the current situation. The main objective of this action is indeed to separate some areas mixed traffic by others totally pedestrian respecting the current needs access to the church, to public and private buildings and the shops. The square is largely reserved for pedestrian use.
